Every year on the 1st of May a Forge Festival takes place in front of the restaurant "Zur Waldschmiede". This forge festival originated from the celebration at the opening of the Schmiedemuseum in the year 1996. Part of the programme is apart from visiting the museum a series of practical presentations for instance shoeing of horses, working at the forge and other performances from earlier times.
For children there is some entertainment on offer (do forging, knock nails etc.). Several stalls and the restaurant provide food and beverages. You can celebrate with coffee and cakes, beer and fried sausage. There is also hey and water for the horses from the friendly Kutschenclub.
