Chronicle of the origin of the Schmiedemuseum
1980: At the Local Council of Beckedorf the village mayor made a proposal to set up the old workshop next to the restaurant "Zur Waldschmiede" as Heimatstube.
11.07.1988: Completion of licence agreement between Frau Christine Wildhack and community Schwanewede about the usage of the workshop.
17.07.1989: The Building Authority Schwanewede explained to the local Council the planned remodelling of the workshop into a forge museum.
12.11.1990: The forge's roof is being newly roofed with old pan tiles from the Beckedorfer school.
07.03.1991: Masonry works at the smith's hearth.
04.05.1992: An iron spiral staircase is being produced to utilise the upper rooms.
16.11.1992: The clay floor is being laid in the forge.
16.12.1992: The smith's hearth gets a blower.
22.12.1992: Start of works at the floor of the museum's room.
1994: Contract between the community Schwanewede and Christine Wildhack about the utilisation of the Schmiedemuseum.
12.04.1996: Founding of a Friends of Beckedorfer-Schmiedemuseum.
01.05.1996: Opening of the Schmiedemuseum.
01.05.1997: Forge celebration with launch of restored bellow.
