Dam Fehsenfeld in Osterholz-Scharmbeck
image author: city-map Osterholz
Of the nine watermills at the Scharmbecker Bach the dam Fehsenfeld was in its original form and function a corn-mill. It was built in the 12th century. During the Middle Ages to modern times, the clacking of the wheel was a very familiar noise. The old mill building was pulled down in 1964. But in the year 1973 the old dam was renovated and new water-wheel installed.
The dam is in any case well worth seeing!
